Love is in the air so you know what that means it’s time for the chocolates, flowers, and handwritten letters. It is never too late to ask your special someone to be your Valentine I have a list for you if you’re wondering what to do for that special someone.
Plan Ahead
Every person wants to be able to show their love towards their significant other and to have an organized Valentine’s you want to always plan.
- Make reservations early if you’re planning on going out to dinner. Valentine’s Day is the most challenging time to plan dinner dates the day of. So instead of going through the stress of finding somewhere romantic to eat on Valentine’s Day just take some time out of your day to call that restaurant to book a reservation.
- Buying your gifts in advance. What I mean by in advance is don’t wait 2 days before Valentine’s Day I am talking about a week before or even 2 weeks before. You don’t want to go through the stress of finding that perfect gift for your lover. My advice to you is to pay attention to what your significant other is looking at or mentioning. It may be a way for their heart to see that you are paying attention to them.
- Asking your significant other to be your valentine. I mean this wholeheartedly ASK YOUR BOYFRIEND OR GIRLFRIEND TO BE YOUR VALENTINE! It does not matter how long you and your lover have been together for you should always ask them to be your valentine. Now it doesn’t have to be big and extravagant even just the words “Will you be my Valentine?” Gives a person a special feeling in their heart and it sets the tone for your Valentine’s Day.
Choose a Thoughtful Gift
Choosing a gift can be one of the hardest things you could do on Valentines’ because you suddenly forget everything that they’ve mentioned or liked.
- The biggest thing a person could do is handwritten letters. A person wants to receive a gift knowing their significant other put time and effort into. And you could never go wrong with something small and simple but holds a strong meaning.
- Consider an experience-based gift what I mean by that is something that both of you could do. Whether it’s a concert of an artist that you both enjoy or a fun activity that both of you enjoy. You don’t want a one-sided gift because even if they enjoy their gift, will you?
- Classic gifts are also an option. Any person would enjoy getting a box of chocolates, flowers, or stuffed animals it just shows the effort you put into picking that gift.
Set The Mood
To have a good Valentines’ you want to set the mood for the entire day. That doesn’t mean just give your gifts and say Happy Valentine’s Day no you have to make sure that day is special for both you and your lover.
- Dress up for the occasion, dressing up for a date, or even when you’re just staying in will make a person feel special. The feeling of dressing up and looking nice for one day creates a deep connection with your special someone.
- If you’re staying in that doesn’t mean to not show your love for the person. You should decorate their room or your room with rose petals, candles, and a special playlist that only you two listen to with all of y’all’s favorite songs to create a romantic ambiance.
Make time for connections
This section should be painfully obvious but some people don’t get it. February 14th is the day for connections, love, and admiration. You have to get personal and close with your special someone and today is that day.
- Putting away all distractions being phones, school, and work. Valentine’s Day is all about you and your lover. To get into the spirit of Valentine’s you have to focus on each other meaning being together and giving your attention to them.
- Taking a trip down memory lane by looking at old photos of each other. The best way to connect is by looking back at old photos of each other whether it is a picture of you as a kid or even you in your awkward middle school phase It is always good to have a nice laugh about the old days with your lover.
Valentine’s Day is about love, connections, and appreciation. Make the day special it’s the time to make thoughtful moments so take a break, cherish the day with each other, and enjoy!
