In San Marcos, summers are the way of life. There are many reasons to why that is, too many to count. Sewell Park was my reason, and ultimately the core of my summers throughout highschool, my best memories were spent baking in the sun with my friends for hours on end, lathered in tanning oil, running off of pure Arizona Tea and chips. I could never get enough of it.
Hours felt like minutes when swimming through the clear waters of Sewell, most days it was hard to get me to leave the river. My friends often jokingly called me a fish, mermaid if you will. I didn’t mind this, It was true. Sewell was not only apart of my way of life here in San Marcos, but it was apart of me. As my senior year comes to an end, so does my time here in San Marcos.
Sewell Park, Sun God, even Frisbee Dan, you will be greatly missed.
