Crowds line the bleachers cheering for their respective team, but this isn’t your average sport. In the ring, metal machines fight for victory. Loud bangs of iron against iron fill the space as teams worldwide compete to complete a set of challenges. One of those teams is the unacknowledged Rattler Robotics from San Marcos High School.
Did you know our school has a robotics team?
Rattler Robotics was founded in 2011 by, the robotics teacher of that time, Brad Walker. Right after, in 2012, Mr. Walker retired, handing over Rattler Robotics to Bradley Gaskill who is still running the team today.
The robotics team travels around the state, taking about 20 students each year. Only about 3000 other schools worldwide get the same opportunity as ours, and there’s just not enough people involved. So, if you are interested in joining this year, email Bradley Gaskill or visit him in room S1112.
This begs the question, are there any other unknown facts behind our school’s walls?
