It’s that time of the year – those three months when all of our Fridays are spent passionately involved in what’s happening on the field or sitting in the bleachers with snacks from the concessions and your best friends, talking the night away. We all know about the football games. Most of us LOVE the football games, even if it’s just for the exhilaration of the environment.
For the majority, we are friends, partners, or family members of the players on the field. Trust me, we all want to support and cheer them on in hopes that they secure our win, but have you ever settled down during halftime, glanced at the front or sides of the field, or up in the bleachers?
BAND & COLOR GUARD
If you have, you’ve probably noticed a few things. For one, our San Marcos High School Band and Color Guard are hyping up the stadium with fun and interactive stand tunes, preparing to put on Stardust, the band’s official four-part show that they’ve been working on since July.
This show is being performed at competitions every Saturday, so let’s wish them luck in placing high! The head directors, Mr. Grover, Mr. Knight, and Ms. Tippie, as well as the guard directors, Ms. Mcmullen and Ms. Shelby, have all been working hard to continually improve Stardust, so show your support by cheering everyone on!
They perform this at halftime every football game, so stick around to see our Band, Color Guard, Rifle Line, and all of the music and choreography everyone has worked so hard to perfect!
DAZZLERS & DIAMOND LINE
Standing with the Band and Guard are our star dance teams, the Dazzlers, and the Diamond Line. These two teams have also been working since July, and their dance performances at halftime truly show that. The Dazzlers, led by Captain Ava Palomo, and directors Mrs. Knight and Ms. Boon, perform right alongside The Diamond Line in their gorgeous purple uniforms. Diamond Line, performing front and center with their cowgirl hats and boots, is led by Captain Eva Moore and Mrs. Knight. Let’s show these talented dancers lots of support as they put all their effort into impressing the crowd!
You will see them on the field at the beginning of the game, welcoming in the football players with mesmerizing ripples and big smiles, so don’t overlook these two amazing and fun additions to our games!
There is so much more than just football on the football field. So many people, diverse performances, and visual artifacts that add to our games. Everyone is so committed to what they do, so let’s all show our gratitude and support after learning about just some of the adrenaline-pumping entertainment we see here on our San Marcos High School Football Field.
